CSL completes delivery of second major export order

Kochi, Dec 7 (UNI) The Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has crossed another milestone when it delivered the ninth and last fire-fighting tug for Jeddah Port Authority in Saudi Arabia.

An official release here today said with the delivery, the CSL had successfully completed the second major export order for the construction of nine fire-fighting tugs.

The order for construction of nine tugs were signed in June 2003 and all the vessels were delivered as per the contractual schedule.

The tugs were performing well to full satisfaction of the owners, the release said.

Presently, the CSL is constructing four 30000 DWT Bulk Carriers for Clipper of Bahamas and 14 Platform Supply Ships for Norwegian owners.

The yard was also entrusted with construction of the first indigenous Aircraft carrier for the Indian Navy, the release added.
