Criminal shot dead in police encounter

Jamshedpur, Dec 7 (UNI) A dreaded criminal was killed in an encounter with police at a flat under Kadma police station here.

Acting on a tip-off, police cordoned off the the ECC flat yesterday where Bada Nizam, said to be a close associate of hardcore criminal Akhilesh Singh, took shelter and shot him dead.

Three others were also arrested from the spot.

Nizam, against whom several cases, including murders, were pending, was wanted by the police for a long time.
