Congress to analyse Telangana sentiment in the bypoll: AP CM

Hyderabad, Dec 7 (UNI) Congratulating the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrsekhara Rao for winning the by-poll to Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat, the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the party would analyse the Telangana sentiment and sent a report to the High Command.

Stating that the Telangana senitment had played a key role in the Karimnagar by-poll, Dr Reddy told newspersons that the Congress has accepted the Telangana sentiment in the elections and the party was committed for second SRC to form the seperate Telangana.

''We were not differing with the seperate Telangana. The issue has been left to the AICC President and UPA Chairperson MS Sonia Gandhi.

The sentiment has overtaken the development activities taken up in the backward Telangana region in the elections'', he added.

Expressing gratitude to the Congress leaders and activists, who were striving for the Congress victory in the by-poll to the Bobbili Lok Sabha seat, Dr Reddy said the development programmes taken up by the State Government had played a crucial role in the election.

Referring to the opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP) demand for recounting of the Bobbili constituency bypoll, he said ''there is no need to recount the votes, as the voting was conducted on electronic voting machines.'' Dr Reddy lauded the CPI, All India Mujlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) for supporting the Congress in the bypolls.
