New Delhi, Dec 7 (UNI) A determined ruling Congress benches today forced an adjournment in the Rajya Sabha till 1230 hours insisting on raising the Gujarat issue in Zero Hour mentions.

Soon after laying down of papers Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan called Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh for making his Zero Hour mentions.

However, Mr Santosh Bagrodia and Raashid Alvi of the Congress strongly protested their notices not being accomodated. Mr Khan clarified that the notices were under consideration of the Chair and only Mr Amar Singh's notice was allowed to be mentioned.

There were strong protests from the BJP benches about their insistence while the Samajwadi group waited for conducive atmosphere for putting forth their view points.

The SP members were to the first to raise slogans which was inaudible followed by the Congress ''Modi ko phasi do'' attracting protests from the BJP benches.

Mr Khan tried to calm the Congress MPs and said they should not insist on Zero Hour mentions but could give separate notices on the same issue. When there was no improvement in the situation, the Chair adjourned the House till 1230 hours.
