New Delhi, Dec 7: A determined ruling Congress benches today forced an adjournment in Rajya Sabha insisting on raising the Gujarat issue in the Zero Hour mentions.

Soon after laying down of papers Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan called Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh for making his Zero Hour mentions. However, Mr Santosh Bagrodia and Rashid Alvi of Congress strongly protested that their notices were not being accomodated.

Mr Khan clarified that their notices were under the consideration of the Chair and only Mr Amar Singh's notice was allowed to be mentioned.

There were strong protests from the BJP benches about their insistance while the Samajwadi group waited for a conducive atmosphere for putting forth their view points. While the SP members were the first to raise slogans which was inaudible, the Congress MPs shouted slogans ''Modi ko phasi do'' attracting strong protests from the BJP benches.

Mr Khan tried to calm the Congress MPs saying they should not insist on Zero Hour mentions but could give separate notices on the same issue. When there was no improvement in the situation, the Chair adjourned the House till 1230 hours.
