CMI-ML condemns CPI-led WB govt over Singur episode
New Delhi, Dec 7 (UNI) Communist Party of India (ML) has condemned the CPM-led West Bengal government for repression of peasants movement in Singur against forcible displacement.
Condemning the arrest of protestors in that state, a statement here criticised the alleged service to a corporate house by WB government and use of colonial Land Acquisition Act to forcibly acquire land.
''Why is it that a private corporate house could not buy its own land form those willing to sell it and why is the WB government acting as a property dealer, seizing land from those who refused to sell,'' it claimed.
Like the BJD-BJP government in Orissa, the WB government was also unleashing repression on its people, it added.
Over hundred party workers had yesterday marched to the Bengal Bhawan here to protest against the state government's action in Singur.
