AASU-Apunba Lup demand removal of AFSPA

Guwahati, Dec 7 (UNI): The All Asom Student Union (AASU) and the Apunba Lup, the apex Manipuri organization, today jointly demanded that Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) should be removed.

Both the organizations are not happy over Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's recent announcement of amendment to the AFSPA.

A 30-member delegation of the Apunba Lup today joined the daylong seminar, which was organized by the AASU, and deliberated on the strategies to repeal the act.
