Woman undertrial attempts suicide

Sangrur, Dec 6 (UNI) A woman undertrial in Sangrur district jail today attempted suicide by hanging herself in the prison premises.

Taranjit Kaur, 35, accused of killing her husband Malkit Singh, was reportedly tense about her scheduled hearing in the court today.

She was spotted by fellow inmates while knotting a dupatta around her neck to hang herself to death and was rescued by them, police said.

A case under Section 309 of the IPC had been registerd against her, it added.
