Kolkata, Dec 6 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today said the perception that good students were against entering politics was not true as it was reflected from the Lok Sabha.

''It is not true. Whenever I ask students what profession you would like to join, at least ten in a gathering of over thousand say that they would like to take up politics,'' he said while replying questions of students at the end of the closing ceremony of 150th year of Calcutta Girls High Schhol here.

Dr Kalam said the wishes the students expressed to him were apart from their choice for different professions, including medicine, engineering, law, administration and teaching.

He said in the present Lok Sabha the number of MPs below the age of 35 were around 17 and the number of MPs below 40 years of age were 47. ''The average age of MPs in the Lok Sabha has been reducing.

When India is slowly becoming a nation of youth, so would our Lok Sabha be,'' he said.
