Six marine police stations to be set up in AP
Hyderabad, Dec 6 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today ratified setting up six marine police stations in the coastal region as per the 'Coastal Security Scheme' being launched by the Centre.
According to sources here, the proposal was approved in a Cabinet meeting and Rs 3.42 crore sanctioned for their construction.
The police stations would be established at Kalingapatnam in Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Machilipatnam, Suryalanka in Guntur District and Durgarajapatnam in Nellore District.
One DIG, an Addlitional Superintendent of Police, two DSPs, six Inspectors, 18 Sub Inspectors, 36 Head Constables, 180 constables and 24 Navy staff would be appointed in the six marine police stations.
