Shoaib comes to Andhra's rescue

Visakhapatnam, Dec 6 (UNI) A breezy knock of 76 (8x4) by S K M Shoaib steered Andhra to a decent 201 for eight at the end of the second day's play against Delhi in the All India Vijay Merchant Trophy Under -17 Group A match here today.

Resuming from an overnight score of 18 for 2, Andhra managed to pile up 201 for 8 against Delhi's first innings score of 291 in 79.3 overs.

Brief scores: Andhra 201 for 8 in 115 overs (S K M Shoaib 76 (8x4), M Ajay Kumar 35 n.o (4x4), Ch Rajiv Yadav 20.

Delhi bowling: Anuragi Tyagi 2 for 51, Sunny Sehrewaat 3 for 35 and Manu Sharma 2 for 33.

In the other match, Baroda scored 200 for 8 in 96 overs as against Punjab's 233 in 90.10 overs.

Brief scores: Baroda First Innings 200 for 8 in 96 overs (S Kedar Devdhar 55 (5x4), Nikunj Mohit 79 (13 x 4) and Aditya Reddy 34.
