SC, ST panchayats to be organised soon: Chouhan

Bhopal, Dec 6 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said the government accorded top priority to socio-economic problems of 'dalit' and weaker sections of society.

Mr Chouhan was addressing a programme organised on the 50th death anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. He also garlanded a statue of Dr Ambedkar.

Pointing out that Dr Ambedkar was deeply committed to the welfare of weaker sections, he said sincere efforts were needed today.

Mr Chouhan said tribal and SC panchayats will be organised soon to discuss problems of SCs and STs in detail.

The panchayats will help analyse benefits of programmes implemented for the welfare of weaker sections, necessity to make changes in present programmes and start new programmes.

The Chief Minister claimed that steps to tackle economic problems of farmers and women were possible after 'Kisan' and 'Mahila' panchayats.
