Railway official caught redhanded while accepting bribe
Bangalore, Dec 6 (UNI) A South Western Railway (SWR) Diesel Loco Shed Junior Engineer was arrested after being caught redhanded while accepting a bribe for showing official favour by the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation in the city today.
A Tiruselvam was trapped while taking Rs 10,000 as the first instalment of Rs 30,000 demanded by him for certifying the bills pertaining to work carried out by a Railway contractor relating to cleaning of shed floors, locos, assembliess and sub-assemblies of Mechanical/Electrical Section at the Diesel Loco Shed, according to a release here.
A case under section seven of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, was booked based on a complaint by the Contractor.
Tiruselvam would be produced before the XXI Additional City Civil Sessions and Special Judge for CBI cases tomorrow.
