PT volunteers held for picketing TRB office
Chennai, Dec 6 (UNI) More than 200 volunteers of the Puthiya Thamizhagam (PT), including party president Dr K Krishnasamy were taken into custody by the police when they attempted to picket the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) office here today.
Before courting arrest, Dr Krishnasamy told newspersons that the agitation was to draw the Tamil Nadu Government's attention to fill around 500 backlog vacant posts of college lecturers meant for dalits in Government Arts Colleges in the state unfilled for years together.
If the Government did not take steps to fill the vacant posts within a short time, the party would intensify its stir throughout the state, he added.
