Mulayam accuses Centre for unnecessarily attacking UP govt
Gunnaur, (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 6 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today accused the Centre of unnecessarily attacking the state government.
Addressing a public meeting soon after the inauguration of a sugar mill costing Rs 200 crore here, the Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo said this action would not fetch even a single vote for the Congress and the Central government would also fall down in the process.
Former Defence Minister alleged that his government was being attacked by vested interests in the name of law and order saying ''other states ruled by the Congress and BJP, including Delhi, had more deplorable law and order situation than UP.'' Mr Yadav said the success achieved by the SP-led UP government has unnerved the Congress, BJP and BSP, therefore, they have launched the campaign against his government to hide their own failures.
The CM lambasted the opposition and said it is seeing the state government through jaundiced eye.
He said that ''all the efforts of the opposition would turn futile as people would never forget the development works done by the state government. In the long run, it is only honesty which pays. The UP government has always remained honest and dedicated towards people, therefore, I am seeing the results of the 2007 Assembly polls through rose coloured spectacles.'' Enumerating the achievements of his government, he said the development works completed during the past three years of SP's reign are commendable.
