Maruti launches Zen Estilo to strenghten compact car segment

Chandigarh, Dec 6 (UNI) Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL) today unveiled Estilo, an improved version of its popular model Zen here.

The car available in eight colours comes in three variants with a price ranging from Rs 3.21 lakh to Rs 3.75 lakh.

Targeting the young people, the company has worked upon the shape and space availabilty, enhanced the engine to 1,061 cc, and air conditioning of the model rechristined as Zen Estilo, meaning style in Spanish.

The model boasts of delivering 64 bhp and low-end torque of 84 nm at 3,500 rpm.

With the launch, the company expects to strengthen its position in the compact car segment where it also offers Alto and WagonR.

The new vehicle also offers power windows on all doors, five-door power locking, internally controlled outsider-rear-view-mirrors and speaker provision at all doors. It comes with an option of advanced features such as ABS and Airbag in the top-end variant.

It has been introduced in eight colours including purple fusion, champagne beige, virgin blue and olive green.

The company sold over 7,60,000 units of previous Zen, which was launched in 1993. The figure includes exports of over 1,22,000 units.
