Kingfisher likely to sponsor next Hornbill Festival

Kohima, Dec 06: Kingfisher, the giant corporate, has expressedtheir desire to step in as sponsors of the Hornbill Festival ofNagaland in 2007, according to Nagaland Commissioner and TourismSecretary K.K.Sema.

In an informal chat with some media persons at the HeritageVillage at Kisama, where the famous Hornbill Festival is going on itsultimatum day today, Sema disclosed that Kingfisher has expressed itsdesire to patronise the event's stall and the State Government willdiscuss on this matter.

If once sponsored by Kingfisher the State Government is likely tobe eased off its heavy burden of investing staggering sums for theFestival and will able to attract more foreign tourists.

He said that besides hundreds of domestic tourists, over onehundred foreign tourists have visited the Heritage Village at Kisama,who came from UK, USA, Germany, Korea, Israel, Japan and a fair numberof them from several other countries. Many tourists had shared theirwonderful experiences and some had even applied for extension of theirstay.
