Karbi militants attack police outpost

Guwahati, Dec 6 (UNI) Suspected Karbi militants attacked the Dokmoka police outpost under Howraghat police station in Asom yesterday,police today said.

Police said here today that heavily armed Karbi militants swooped down on the Dokmoka police station and pumped a barrage of bullets and lobbed grenade.

Police also retaliated. However, there was no casualty or injury in the 45-minute-long gunfire, police added.

Meanwhile, railway operation resumed on the Diphu-Lumding section this afternoon.

The railway tracks were damaged by the blast, triggered by the Karbi militants.
