Kalam cautions lawyers about cyber crimes

Kolkata, Dec 6 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today called upon the lawyers to be prepared to deal with cyber crimes in the country.

''More the country is becoming advanced technologically more will there be cyber crimes,'' Dr Kalam said.

''It's a grave concern and lawyers should train themselves to defeat the menace,'' he said while inaugurating the platinum jubilee celebration of the West Bengal Bar Council.

Echoing similar concern, Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court V S Sirpurkar said cyber crimes had posed a challenge to lawyers and there should be laws to arrest the growth of such crimes.

West Bengal Bar Council Chairman Sanatan Mukherjee and state Law Minister Rabilal Maitra stressed the need for upholding the quality of justice and urged lawyers to catch up with the changing pattern of crimes in the country.
