Jairam Ramesh to inaugurate Asian Packaging Meet in Mumbai

New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh will inaugurate the two-day "Asian Packaging Conference on Packaging for Tomorrow" at Mumbai on December 12.

About 400 delegates from India comprising packaging raw material manufacturers, converters, machinery suppliers, service providers and user industries are expected to attend the conference being organised by the Indian Institute of Packaging with support from the Asian Packaging Federation.

The conference will highlight issues of packaging related to the global market for the promotion of business development and disseminate the latest trends and technologies of packaging materials, conversion systems and package evaluation.

World Packaging Organisation President Keith Pearson will deliver the keynote address and Asian Packaging Federation President Albert Lim will address during the inaugural session.

In addition representatives of 14 member countries of the Asian Packaging Federation, about 50 overseas delegates from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Egypt, Pakistan, South Africa and Singapore will take part in the meet.
