Engineer convicted for amassing disproportionate assets
Bhopal, Dec 6 (UNI) A special court of Gwalior has sentenced Public Works department junior engineer O P Gupta to two years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The court also ordered to impound assets worth Rs 5,97,213.
According to Lokayukta sources, a raid at the Gwalior residence of the Junior Engineer on September 2, 1997 revealed that he owned movable and immovable assets worth Rs 24 lakh.
