New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) Delhi Pradesh BJP President Harshvardhan today called upon the Election Commission to probe how the Congress and the Left parties indulged in electoral malpractices during campaign in Kerala by-election.

Both the parties put up posters of convicted terrorists Afzal Guru and Abdul Nasir Madni, projecting them as ideals, the BJP leader alleged in his statement.

Harshvardhan accused both the parties of having stooped lower than the lowest in a blinding greed for votes.

Afzal Guru and Abdul Nasir Madni were declared terrorists. Their posters read an appeal by the Congress to Tiruvambadi electorate to vote for the alliance, the BJP leader alleged.

Similarly, the Left parties in an understanding with the Muslim League put up posters of Abdul Nasir Madni, convicted in Coimbatore bomb explosions case, appealing to the electorate to make the Left alliance victorious.

The indulgence spoke volumes of their national credentials, Dr Harshvardhan said calling upon the CEC to withdraw recognition of the parties in the interest of the nation.

He expressed surprise as to why no action had yet been taken for violation of the election code of conduct.

The BJP pradesh president also called it a national shame that the Congress and the Left parties had passed a unanimous resolution in the Kerala legislative assembly calling for Madni's release.
