CPI(M) wings protest against atrocities on Dalits

Vijayawada, Dec 6 (UNI) A large number of Dalits led by Andhra Pradesh Dalit Hakkula Porata Samithi, affiliated to CPI(M), today resorted to dharna before the Sub Collector's office to protest against the atrocities on Dalits.

Speaking on the occasion of the 50th death anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar the state vice-president of the Samithi B Rayappa criticised the Government for its failure to implement the SC, ST Atrocities Prevention Act and demanded that the Government take steps to stop atrocities on them in future. They also demanded reservations in private sector.

The CPI(M) and its affiliated wings also demanded the Government to initiate action against the accused in Khirlang Dalit family killing case and desecration of Ambedkar statue in Kanpur recently.

Telugu Desam Party(TDP) also organised a cycle rally on the occasion.
