Arunachal is intergal part of India: Exiled Tibet govt
Lucknow, Dec 6: Exiled Tibetan Prime Minister venerable Samdhong Rinpoche today said China has no legal claim on Arunachal Pradesh and ''it is an intergal part of India.'' Mr Rinpoche said there is no legal claim of China on Arunachal Pradesh after it (China) had accepted the Mac Mohan Line of Control (LoC) dividing Arunachal and Tibet.
''China want Arunachal only on the basis of Tamang Monastery, which is legally not accepted in international forum,'' he claimed talking to reporters here.
Admitting that the fight for total independence in Tibet has been scaled down, Samdhong Rinpoche informed five rounds of talks had already been completed since 2002 with the Chinese government without any solution.
''We have scaled down our demand for Tibet independence and now only want full autonomy of Tibet, so that the culture, religion and social and economic status of the Tibetan people are safeguarded,'' ''We decided to scale down our demand so that an early resolution can be achieved for the five decade odd dispute,'' he maintained.
Maintaining that Chinese government had changed its attitude towards the Tibetan agitation following international pressure, Mr Rinpoche observed there is a long way for an amicable solution.
