Alistair Perreira sent to police custody till Monday
Mumbai, Dec 6 (UNI) A local court today granted police custody till December 11 to Alistair Anthony Pereira, an accused in the November 12 Bandra hit-and-run incident, in a driving licence case.
Alistair, son of a businessman, arrested by the Oshiwara Police last night on charges of producing fake documents to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) to procure a driving licence, was produced before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate where his custody for further interrogation was sought.
He had allegedly produced the fake documents to get the driving licence when he was 15-year-old.
The Mumbai High Court on December 1 had granted bail to the accused on a personal bond of Rs 25,000 and compensation amounting to Rs 3.5 lakh, to be paid to the deceased and the injured in the accident.
Alistair had allegedly run over sleeping pavement dwellers along Carter Road in suburban Bandra killing seven people and injuring eight others.
