Bangalore, Dec 6 (UNI) Low cost carrier Air Deccan has introduced the Credit Card Masking System, an enhanced security system, at its call centre, wherein credit card payments would be made through Interactive Voice Response (IVR) instead of the call centre agent.

The company said in a statement here today that with the introduction of the Credit Card Masking System, all Air Deccan passengers would get a fully secure booking environment, avoiding any manual interaction. Credit card details would be encrypted as soon as they were punched in, eliminating all security concerns of the passengers.

Air Deccan, which carried over 7.3 million passengers annually with a market share of 21.2 per cent, had a dedicated 24x7 call centre, through which ten per cent of the ticket bookings were made.

Air Deccan Managing Director Captain G R Gopinath said that with the adoption of cutting edge technology, the company was taking e-commerce to a different level in the airline industry. ''The new security system, apart from giving a fillip to our call centre sales, will provide a 100 per cent secure booking environment for our passengers.'' UNI MV GD DKS KP1727
