17 workers of Hindu Mahasabha taken ito custody

Ayodhya, Dec 6 (UNI) Seventeen workers of the Hindu Mahasabha, who were going to perform 'parikrama' of the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi complex here on the 14th anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition, were taken into police custody today.

Senior Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Gupta said the activists were taken into custody near Ramsadan for violating section 144 of CRPC.

Later, state unit president of the Hindu Shivsena was taken into custody when he was going to burn the effigy of terrorist Afzal Guru -- convicted in Parliament attack on December 13, 2001.
