No cause for Shibu Soren to resign from Lok Sabha: JMM
New Delhi, Dec 5 (UNI) JMM leader and deputy Chief Minister of Jharkhand Sudhir Mahto said today that there was no cause to resign from the Lok Sabha for former Union Minister Shibu Soren, sentenced to life imprisonment in the Shashinath Jha murder case.
Mr Mahto told UNI that the party would turn to the people. The party would call a meeting in the districts across the state on December 7.
He said the meeting would lay out further course of action.
However, he reposed faith in judiciary. "The same court will acquit him," he hoped.
The deputy Chief Minister also sought to make political capital out of the crisis facing the party.
"Guruji has fallen to a conspiracy hatched by the NDA leaders. It was the NDA leaders who had highlighted the alleged deal between Shibu and the then Congress leaders," he said.
Sunil Mahto, JMM MP from Jamshedpur, also lent his support to Shibu Soren.
"There is no threat to the party. We have survived many crises," he said.
