BJP wins all seats in Kanakpur-Kansad municipal election

Surat, Dec 5 (UNI) Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates today won all the 19 seats of the Kansad-Kanakpur Municipality, near here, the election for the 19 seats of the 21-member body was conducted on December 3.

Counting of the votes took place at the District Panchayat Office here, sources said.

All the elected candidates belong to BJP and they have defeated their rivals with a majority of 200 to 400 votes, sources said.

According to sources, two BJP candidates had already been elected unopposed, sources added.
