Sambalpur bandh to protest desecration of Ambedkar's statue

Sambalpur, Dec 4 (UNI) Life was affected in this western Orissa town today following a dawn-to-dusk bandh to protest the desecration of the statue of BabaSahib B R Ambedkar at Kanpur last week.

Most of the shops and commercial establishments, government offices, banks and educational institutions remained closed while vehicles were off the road. Train services were, however, not affected.

The bandh was called jointly by JMM, RPI, BSP, Dalita Surakshya Manch, and the Adibasi Sena.
