Snow control room set up in Srinagar to monitor situation
Srinagar, Dec 3 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government today set up a round-the-clock Snow Control Room to monitor the situation in view of inclement weather conditions here since early this morning.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Basharat Ahmed Dhar along with Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Sheikh Aijaz Iqbal paid a surprise visit to the Snow Control Room here and found it to be functional and operating on a 24-hour basis.
All the 39 snow clearance machines have been made available in the control room.
The Divisional Commissioner asked authorities at the respective district headquarters to remain alert and directed the mechanical department to remain readily available for meeting any eventuality.
