Jharkhand govt to chalk out strategy to tackle extremists: Koda
Bokaro, Dec 3 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today announced Rs 13 lakh as compensation to the kin of policemen, who were killed in Maoist attack here yesterday.
Thirteen policemen were killed and three others injured in a landmine explosion triggered by the Ultras in this district yesterday.
Mr Koda said the Ultras were taking these kind of steps due to immense police pressure on them.
Talking to newsmen here, he said the state government had made plans to tackle the problem and every effort would be made to counter the Naxalite activities in the state.
Mr Koda said the aim of the ultras to bring changes in society through violence would be 'useless'.
He said the Union government had sent 30 companies of security forces to fight the extremists, adding a demand of 20 more companies had also been sent.
Replying to a query, he said the government was trying to bring the extremists in the main stream of society.
