J'khand to chalk out strategy against extremists
Bokaro, Dec 3: Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today announced Rs 13 lakh as compensation to the kins of policemen, who were killed in Maoist attack here yesterday.
On December 2, altogether 13 policemen were killed and three others injured in a landmine explosion triggered by the ultras in this district.
Mr Koda said ultras were taking these kind of steps due to immense police pressure on them.
Talking to newsmen here, he said the state government has made plans to tackle Maoist ultras and every effort would be made to counter the naxalite activities in state.
Mr Koda said the aim of the ultras to bring changes in society through violence would be useless.
He said the Union government had sent 30 companies of security forces to fight with extremists adding a demand of 20 more companies had also been sent.
Replying to a query, he said the government was trying to bring the extremists in the main stream of society.
