Haryana delivers 6.11 lakh tonnes of rice to Central pool

Chandigarh, Dec 3 (UNI) The Haryana government has delivered 6.11 lakh tonnes of rice to the Central pool so far as against 5.51 lakh tonnes during the corresponding period last year.

While stating this here today, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said six government procuring agencies had delivered 3.94 lakh tonnes of rice while remaining 2.17 lakh tonnes was delivered by the millers to the Central pool.

He said the HAFED has delivered 1.65 lakh tonnes of rice, Food and Supply had delivered 1.27 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation had delivered 42,904 tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation had delivered 17,759 tonnes, Confed had delivered 33,940 tonnes and Food Corporation of India had delivered 6,869 tonnes of rice.

He said that Kurukshetra district had delivered 1.44 lakh tonnes of rice, Karnal 1.10 lakh tonnes, Kaithal 1.04 lakh tonnes, Fatehabad 70,000 tonnes, Ambala 65,455 tonnes, Yamunanagar 36,113 tonnes, Sirsa 24,952 tonnes, Faridabad 18,291 tonnes, Jind 14,171 tonnes and Panchkula 9,073 tonnes of rice.
