Ban orders in Mysore city in view of by-poll

Mysore, Dec 3 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under section 144 Cr PC has been imposed in the city limits from this afternoon in view of the highly fought by-poll for Chamundeshwari assembly segment tomorrow.

City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood said the action was taken to ensure free and fair polls.

In a press release he said under the instruction of the Election Commission, political party leaders had been asked to leave the city. Movement of party workers in the constituency had been banned during the prohibition period. Parties were not allowed to display their symbol in any part of the constituency during the polling period tomorrow.
