AU to hold series of events on 100th birth anniversary of SD Burman

Allahabad, Dec 3 (UNI) To commemorate the birth centenary of eminent singer and composer Sachindra Dev Burman, the Central Cultural Committee of University of Allahabad is going to hold a series of events from December 5.

The convenor of the event M C Chattopadhyaya here today said the Allahabad University in association with the Prayag Sangeet Samiti, North Central Zone Culturl Centre and Bengali Educational Society has made a small effort to pay tribute to legendry 'Burman da'.

Mr Chattopadhyaya added while December 5 would be the curtain raiser to the celebrations, the grant finale would be on December 17, which would be a seminar on the works of Sachin Dev Burman.

For the seminar, experts from Agartala, Kolkota and Delhi will participate in the deliberations, while in the musical evening, eminent artists from Agartala and Kolkata will present the memorable songs composed by S D burman, he said.
