SACA hightens security at Adelaide Oval to check crowd trouble
Sydney, Dec 2 (UNI) With spectator behaviour becoming a serious concern at the Ashes, the South Australian Cricket Association has employed 90 policemen, 150 security guards and 20 video cameras to keep a close watch on the crowd at the Adelaide Oval during the second Test.
According to a 'Herald Sun' report, the video surveillance of the Adelaide Oval is being done for the first time in its 129-year-old history and the organisers are patting themselves on the back for the hightened security measures for the match which started yesterday.
The second Test of the series has not seen any crowd-related trouble so far and only one rowdy spectator had to be escorted out for throwing a 'dangerous' object at the scoreboard.
The SACA says the tougher security measures have brought ''marvellous result'' without offending anyone. The organisers claimed to have received a call from the visiting Barmy Army thanking them for the arrangements at the venue.
