Poojari accuses JD(S) of indulging in goondaism

Bangalore, Dec 2 (UNI) Accusing the Janata Dal (Secular) of indulging in goondaism while campaigning for the Chamundeswari Assembly bypoll, senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojari today demanded arrest of Karnataka Forests Minister C Chennigappa in connection with manhandling a photographer.

Talking to reporters here, he pointed out that the Minister had manhandled the photographer while he was discharging his duty. He charged the JD(S) workers with preventing the Samajawadi Party and JD(U) candidates from taking up electioneering.

Stating that Congress victory was imminent in Chamundeswari, the former KPCC President said that in frustration. Even former Prime Minister and JD(S) President H D Deve Gowda was making all sorts of allegations against the Election Commission, including that it worked as a Congress agent in the bypoll.

The former Union Minister said the EC should work without fear and partiality and take action against any party indulging in violation of the model code of conduct.
