Mercury rises to 10.9 degrees Celsius
New Delhi, Dec 2 (UNI) Continuing the rising trend, the minimum temperature today rose to 10.9 degrees Celsius, which is nearly two degrees above the normal temperature.
It was the second day since Sunday that the minimum temperature rose above the nine degrees mark. For almost the whole of the week, the minimum temperature has been recorded below nine degrees.
The maximum temperature also rose to 26 degrees C, from 25 degrees C yesterday.
The weatherman said the rise in temperature could continue over the next few days, even though there could be a sharp fall in day temperatures in the coming week.
''Northwest India is likely to be affected by a western disturbance from December 3 to 6. Under its influence, enhanced snowfall activity with isolated heavy falls is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal commencing from tomorrow. Plains of Northwest India are also likely to experience scattered rain and thundershower activity from Monday onwards.
Consequently, day temperatures are likely to fall whereas night temperatures are likely to increase over Northwest India during the above period,'' the weather office said.
For Delhi, the weatherman has forecast a mainly clear sky even though some mist would prevail in the morning and added the minimum temperature could rise to 11 degrees C tomorrow.
