London hospital says no sign Scaramella poisoned

LONDON, Dec 1 (Reuters) Mario Scaramella, an Italian contact of Alexander Litvinenko, received a much lower dose of radiation than the former Russian spy and shows no sign of poisoning, a London hospital said today.

''Tests have detected polonium 210 in Mr Scaramella's body but at a considerably lower level than Mr Litvinenko,'' University College Hospital said in a statement.

''He is currently well and shows no symptoms of radiation poisoning. He is receiving further tests over the weekend.'' Litvinenko, a former Russian spy who became an outspoken Kremlin critic, was poisoned by polonium and died last week.
