Mumbai, Dec 2 (UNI) Vasudha Movies' 'Dil Se Pooch... Kidhar Jaana Hai' is all set to hit theatres on December 15.

Written and Directed by Shrirang, a National School of Drama product and a National Award winner for Marathi film Pudcha Paol is set against socio-political scenario in Mumbai from 1993 to 2005.

The film stars Aditya Shrivastava as Avinash, investigating cop of CID fame and Vani Tripathi, a prominent theatre personality who has also acted in films like Dushman, Stumped, Chalte Chalte, Sutradhar, in the lead role.

The supporting cast includes Ashok Shinde, Lushin Dubey, Abhijit Lahri, Vijay Amaurya, Suhita Thatte, Ravi Khanwilkar, Rihitashv, Neeraj Sood and Jitendra Roy.

'Dil Se Pooch...' is a sensitive tale woven around relationships and people who maintain their faith in life despite being torn apart by circumstances and events.

The movie, while dealing with a series of violent events that take place duirng early nineties, changing the course of the lives of many, seeks an answer to a fundamental question that whether individuals create society or the society moulds an individual.

'Avinash' and 'Aliya', the lead pair, are also hit by the evnts leading to their seperation, only to meet after a gap of few years and find each other as a police officer and a prostitute respectively.

The dramatic situation which then faces them is that one has to deal with the system and other has to deal with the self.

In his debut Hindi film, Shrirang has sensitively handled a complex subject. Aditya and Vani are bound to shock the audiences with their power-charged performances.

Talking about the film, Shrirang said, ''It is a relationship-oriented film with a lot of socio-political undercurrent. It is about how people get shattered by socio-political events around them even though they may have nothing to do with the events. The essence of the film being that the country has a life laced with events that affect its political and social fabric and parallel to that are the lives of the individuals living in that nation.Ғ Aditya Srivastava plays an image-defying role, of a police officer who gets separated from his love during the Mumbai riots, only to meet her again as a prostitute.

Vani Tripathi- a multi faceted personality - a model, an actress, an animal activist, a social worker, a theatre artist, a wildlife photographer and a writer- makes a bold move playing a prostitute, 'Aliya', for the first time in a movie.

Having worked with ace directors like Ramesh Sippy, Aziz Mirza, Kundan Shah and Tanuja Chandra, Vani thinks she has crossed major hurdles in her way to becoming a thinking actress. And hence, she believes that in her role of a child woman and a prostitute in this film, she is able to live up to those shades that demanded a ''wholesome approach''.

Incidentally, Vani Tripathi has also shouldered the responsibility of being the executive producer of the movie, the release added.

The music of the film has been composed by Aadesh Shrivastava's with lyrics by Nida Fazli.
