KARACHI, Dec 1 (Reuters) Twin centuries from Mohammad Yousuf enabled Pakistan to wrap up the third and final test against West Indies on Friday by 199 runs for a 2-0 series win.

After a spirited fight by the West Indian batsmen in the first two sessions, leg spinner Danish Kaneria (3-69) and paceman Abdul Razzaq (2-23) finally broke their resistance after tea with the last four wickets falling for 17 runs.

West Indies were bowled out for 244 runs in 76 overs after being set an improbable victory target of 444 runs.

The test was dominated by Yousuf who recorded innings of 102 and 124 and notched his ninth hundred of the year to take his calendar year record to 1,788.

After resuming on 39 for two, West Indies reached a fighting 226 for five at tea.

But in the second over after the resumption, Kaneria dismissed the obdurate Shivnarine Chanderpaul (69) and Daren Powell (0) to set his team on the victory path.

Razzaq, who took his 100th test wicket, wrapped up the tail with the wickets of Jerome Taylor (1) and Corey Collymore (0).

Chanderpaul staged a lone battle for his team after West Indies lost the wicket of skipper Brian Lara and Ramnaresh Sarwan to a foot injury before lunch.

Sarwan had to retire just when he looked to have hit form for the first time in the series with a fine 35.

Paceman Umar Gul had Lara caught by Shoaib Malik in the covers for 49 from 92 balls as he failed to check his drive and played uppishly after hitting nine fours.

Seventeen balls later, Gul floored Sarwan with a vicious inswinging yorker with his team reeling on 101-3.

CHANDERPAUL GOES Runako Morton also went before lunch caught and bowled by Kaneria for 16 after clobbering him for two fours and a six in one over.

West Indies, who have not win a test series in Pakistan since 1981, suffered their 17th defeat in their last 25 tests.

Kaneria first trapped Chanderpaul leg before for a well-grafted 69 runs from 111 balls with nine fours and next ball had Powell caught at forward short leg by Younis Khan.

Chanderpaul who scored his 40th half-century put on 57 with Dwayne Bravo (26) in the second session before the latter was out to a careless shot.

Playing well, Bravo guided a wide ball to Younis Khan at second slip off Shahid Nazir.

''We remain positive despite the defeat. As a team we played with spirit in the series. I think the younger guys will gain a lot from playing in the subcontinent'' Lara told reporters.

''We played good cricket and we deserved a better scoreline.

But hopefully we can take something out of this tour.'' Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq said he was always confident of a win as playing 100 overs to save the match would put any team under pressure.

''I think our policy of not making changes in the three tests also paid off. The openers did well and eased the pressure off us.'' REUTERS SAM RK1830
