Sri Lanka pile on runs in New Zealand tour match
ADELAIDE, Dec 1 (Reuters) Sri Lanka's batsmen warmed up for next week's first test against New Zealand by plundering more than 400 runs against Otago in Dunedin today.
Chamara Silva (70), Chamara Kapugedera (68), Kumar Sangakarra (65) and Farveez Maharoof (53) all completed half-centuries as the tourists racked up 413 off 108.3 overs after starting the second day on 141-3.
Otago, in reply, were 140-2 when stumps were drawn, capitalising on some wayward bowling from Sri Lanka in the absence of Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas.
Sri Lanka's first test against New Zealand begins next Thursday at Christchurch with the second match starting in Wellington on December 15.
Sri Lanka are also due to play two Twenty20 matches and five one-day internationals on the six-week tour.
