Shivaji Poonia of RTSD wins World Jumping Challenge Category A

Bangalore, Dec 1 (UNI) Dafadar Shivaji Poonia of Remount Training School and Depot, riding 'Moon Flower', won the gold in World Jumping Challenge Cat 'A' with 58.56 time in the National Equestrian Championship held here today.

Moon Flower stylishly triumphed clearing the nine obstacles designed for the event at the Agram Grounds of the ASC Centre and College. The total distance for the jump challenge was 420 m, speed set at 350 m per minute with a time 72 secs. Maximum time limit was 144 secs. DCP S G Maribashetti of Karnataka Mounted Police (KMP) and Aliya Dasgupta of Hannibal-EIRS) won the silver and bronze respectively.

In all 17 teams including President Body Guard, 61 Cavalry, Armed Corps Centre and School, Ahmednagar, ASC Centre and College, Bangalore, Remount Training School and Depot, Sharanpur, remount Training School and Depot, Hempur, Indian Navy, Assam Rifle, Border Security force, Tekanpur, Karnataka Mounted Police, Equestrian Centre for Excellence, Bangalore, RM Farm Pollachi, Chennai, Princess Academy, Bangalore, Chennai Equestrian Academy, confident Group, Bangalore are participating in the Championship.

Results: World Jumping Challenge (Cat A): Dfr Shivaji Poonia (Moon Flower-RTSD) 1, DCP SG Maribashetti (CJ 15 KMP) 2, Aliya Dasgupta (Hannibal-EIRS) 3.
