Police nab youth for desecration of Ambedkar bust

Kanpur, Nov 30 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh police have arrested a youth Arun Valmiki in connection with Tuesday night's desecration of a bust of Dalit icon Dr B R Ambedkar late tonight.

Superintendent of police (West) Gulab Singh told UNI that police had taken seven people under custody, including Valmiki.

Mr Singh said during interrogation, Valmiki accepted his crime, saying he together with his two friends, all drunk did it. Later, the police released the other six.

Mr Singh said the investigations are on to nab the other two persons involved.
