Pay Rs one lac to families of 3 civilians killed in Kashmir,SHRC
Srinagar, Dec 1 (UNI) The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has directed the Jammu and Kashmir Government to pay Rs one lakh each to next of kin of three civilians who were killed during ''cross-firing'' seven years ago in North Kashmir.
The commission has also recommended jobs to the next of kin of the deceased as per the government policy under SRO 43.
It has also recommended a relief of Rs 75,000 each to six persons whose houses were damaged in the firing during the encounter between militants and security forces.
The commission order came on a petition filed by the family members of Mohammad Shafi, Ghulam Nabi and Mohammad Ashraf who were killed during the night of November10-11, 1999 in the shootout.
