MP Commercial Tax dept to contribute 85 pc of tax revenue
Bhopal, Dec 1 (UNI) The collection of revenue from Madhya Pradesh commercial tax department is expected be between Rs 8,500-10,000 crore -- almost 85 per cent of total tax revenue -- during the current financial year.
This was informed at a departmental review meeting chaired by Commercial Taxes Minister Babulal Gaur here yesterday, an official release here said.
The revenue to be contributed by the department includes the proceeds from commercial taxes, excise and registration duty.
During 2005-06, the department earned a revenue of Rs 7,644.06 crore. A revenue of Rs 4,469.13 crore has already been received as against the target of Rs 8,473 crore by October during the current financial year, the release added.
