Mizoram govt accused of of non-pursuing peace accord

Aizawl, Dec 01 (UNI) Mizoram Bar Association (MBA) accused ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) government of non-pursuing implementation of the peace agreement signed with centre in 1986.

MBA officials here today alleged due to reluctant attitude of the state government a number of issues including seperate high court have not yet been implemented in Mizoram even after two decades of attaining state-hood.

''As per the memorandum of settlement signed between erstwhile MNF underground and central government clearly mentioned that Mizoram can have a separate high court but even after getting three terms MNF has not pursued the matter at all'', MBA president Lalramzauva said.

He added that not only the seperate high court, there are number of issues related to the development of Mizoram have been laying pending since long with the central government.
