Maruti Nov sales up 16.1%; Maruti 800 sales dip 18.3%

New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) Maruti Udyog Ltd today posted a 16.1 per cent increase in its sales during November 2006 at 55,033 units, even as the sales of its flagship model Maruti 800 dipped 18.3 per cent.

The car market leader sold 47,391 vehices in November last year.

It sold 52,574 vehicles in the domestic market in November 2006 compared to 43,568 units in corresponding period a year ago.

The company's exports stood at 2,459 units, down by 35.7 per cent as against 3,823 cars in the same month last year.

Sales of Maruti 800 fell down to 6,040 units from 7,397 cars.

The A2 segment comprising -- Alto, Wagon-R, Zen, Swift -- grew by 32.3 per cent and C segment with Omni and Versa went up by 36.2 per cent during the month compared to sales in November 2005.

However, the A3 segment constituting Baleno and Esteem and MUV segment with Gypsy and Vitara models registered 14.5 per cent and 48.2 per cent decline in salesrespectively during the month.
