Arun Sadhu elected as Chairman of Marathi Sahitya Sammelan

Nagpur, Dec 1 (UNI) Noted litterateur Arun Sadhu has been elected as the Chairman of the 80th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan (All India Marathi Literary Meet), to be held in Nagpur in February 2007.

Mr Sadhu was declared elected by Shyam Deshpande, Returning Officer of Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Mahamandal, which hosts the Meet, here today.

Mr Sadhu polled 365 votes, while Waman Nimbalkar polled 29 and Ratanlal Sonagra 9 votes, Mr Deshpande said. There were 527 registered voters for the election, of which 412 exercised their franchise, and 10 votes were delared invalid, the Returning Officer said.
